Monday 18: Rivers and Capitals of World

With my aim to maintain the flow of knowledge, I bring a quiz set on something which literally flows. For all my quizzing enthusiast readers, here's a set where every answer is a world renowned river body
Q.1. In the 2009 ditching of US Airways Flight 1549 in the X River off Manhattan after both engines were disabled by a bird strike; miraculously all 155 people aboard survived. While many know the captain Chesley Sullenburger and his heroics, does anyone know the river on which he landed??? Starting off, in easy mode, anyone who went to New York will know the river.

c.) Hudson
It is indeed the Hudson, people who have been to New York or to Statue of Liberty might know the name. Heck even the movie buffs would know tha ;)

Q.2. Coming to even more direct movie connection, what is the river surrounding the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. The given scene is the final climax scene from the Chris Hemsworth starrer The Extraction, which actually revolved around Dhaka.
(FYI, will not take Ganga as Answer)

a.) Buriganga
I said I won't take Ganga as answer but said nothing about one of its distributaries. Being situated in the Ganga-Brahmaputra delta region, the channel which was depicted in the scene and forms a part of border for dhaka is indeed Buriganga.

Q.3.Oddly enough, the waterway is not called with its famous English name in any of the countries through which it runs. It has a German name, a Czech, in Hungarian and so forth. Also depicting the vast number of European Union countries it passed through. Worshipping a god of the same name, the ancient Romans also used it to transport cargo. All these names derive from the Celtic word danu, which means “to flow” or “to run.” Which water body or waterway it is?

a.) Danube River

Q.4. This is the world's highest waterfall situated in deep corners of the Latin American country of Venezuela.
Since we are talking about rivers, so needless to say, my straight question is which river, Angel Falls is situated in?

b.) Cheron River

Q.5. In 2010, NASA scientists calculated that the shift of water mass stored by a dam on river X would increase the length of the Earth's day by 0.06 microseconds and make the Earth slightly more round in the middle and flat on the poles.

b.) Yangtze River
