3. X was born in a Bengali Family in Varanasi in 1920. One day as a 10-year-old boy, X was being chased by the Police over a minor offence and he jumped into the River Ganges to hide from the Police. At that moment, a 10 km race was going on over the Ganges. He also started swimming with the participants and somehow ended up finishing third. That day set him on the course to be a swimmer. Later he went on to equal the 100m national record and also broke the 200m record. He also represented India in 1948 olympics.

X is Sachin Nag.Sachin Nag created history by becoming India’s first ever Asian Games gold medallist.Besides being an expert swimmer, Nag was also an accomplished waterpolo player and was a part of two Olympic water polo squads - in 1948 (London) and in 1952 (Helsinki). Interestingly , the Asian Games Village at Siri Fort in Delhi has a block named after Sachin Nag.
