3. X was born in a Bengali Family in Varanasi in 1920. One day as a 10-year-old boy, X was being chased by the Police over a minor offence and he jumped into the River Ganges to hide from the Police. At that moment, a 10 km race was going on over the Ganges. He also started swimming with the participants and somehow ended up finishing third. That day set him on the course to be a swimmer. Later he went on to equal the 100m national record and also broke the 200m record. He also represented India in 1948 olympics.
